The Quiet

The Victoria Peak, Hong Kong Pic by Anil Tirunagari

The quiet, so quiet, so still
My soul lulled, dipped for a refill
I slipped on to the Calm Highway
Breath by breath, the world fell away

Closed shut my heavy lids
Into the void we gently slid
My soul and I held the emptiness
Together, soaked in the wanderness

Into the tunnel, came speeding a thought
It slowed down, ground to a halt
People–heave, shove and push
Spilled out in a rush
Caught up, i watched their drill

Their robes, their frills.
Ensnared, until a tiny voice tweeted
Let go! They are but mere trinkets.
And just as it came, it vapored
In its wake,
Emerged the mountain once again.
